1.5em; color: #002820;\">In 2015, the Animal Welfare and Safety Act came into force in Quebec. Many believe that since then, animals have been protected in our province. However, the 23 minutes of undercover footage produced between 2020 and 2025 tell a completely different story &ndash; even if they are only small sample of all of the images we received. These images immerse us in all the major industries in Quebec: pigs, chickens, dairy cows, and turkeys. We discover the consequences of intensive agriculture in all its forms:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">Sick, suffering, or even dead animals alongside living animals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">Absolutely deplorable breeding conditions, including permanent confinement and too often unsanitary situations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">Rushed and tired workers who mistreat and injure animals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">Short animal lives punctuated by painful passages (amputation, insemination, transport, etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">Even more terrible is the realization that these images are not isolated cases or &ldquo;bad farms.&rdquo; These conditions are indeed the norm in Quebec for most farmed animals. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/actualites\/societe\/777232\/au-quebec-des-truies-en-gestation-sont-encore-dans-des-cages-qui-les-empechent-de-bouger\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #549e90;\"><strong>Caged sows<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/actualites\/societe\/777232\/au-quebec-des-truies-en-gestation-sont-encore-dans-des-cages-qui-les-empechent-de-bouger\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #549e90;\"><strong>pigs killed at 3% of their life expectancy<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/economie\/consommation\/777124\/serie-bien-etre-animal-le-cout-moral-d-un-verre-de-lait\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; They show that, <strong>far from what industries try to make us believe, the vast majority of animals in Quebec do not live on small farms where they are happy<\/strong>. On the contrary, the vast majority of animals in our province are today victims of a system where the priority is profit and productivity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">Since the publication of Law B 3.1 on animal welfare in 2015 in Quebec, farms have continued to grow, and animals to suffer. Meanwhile, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #549e90;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #549e90; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oUA_9w7ZgqA\">this same Law B 3.1 continues to maintain enormous ambiguity regarding the regulation of farming practices in Quebec<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: roboto, geneva, sans-serif; line-height: 1.5em; color: #002820;\">, with disastrous consequences for animals.
